Aber die Regierung des "souveränen Volks" ist durch einen perfiden Zirkelschluß vor jeder Selbstbeschränkung geschützt, denn sie ist im Recht, weil sie der Kollektivwille ist, und sie ist der Kollektivwille, weil sie im Recht ist.

Der Denkfehler aller Demokratien, den schon Herodot klar erkannte, als er sagte, in ihnen werde die Mehrheit für das Ganze gehalten, hatte sich in Griechenland zu einer alles zerfressenden nationalen Wahnidee gesteigert.
