Happy meal
Happy Meals are meals from McDonald's marketed at children. They first entered the market in 1979. Happy Meals usually consist of a choice of a hamburger or chicken nuggets, a soft drink, an order of french fries, and a small toy. More recently, apple slices can be chosen as a substitute for the fries.
In November 2010, San Francisco, California became the first city to give preliminary approval to ban toys from being included in Happy Meals (and other similar fast food children meals) if the meal did not meet a set standard of nutrition, which includes providing both vegetables and fruit.
