tiger shark

The tiger shark (Galeocerdo cuvier) is a species of shark which live in many tropical and temperate deep waters. They have dark stripes along the top side of its body (that’s why they are called tiger sharks). Tiger sharks eat from crustaceans to dolphins, including smaller sharks, and they are solitary and nocturne animals. About its size, it can reach 4 meters of length and weight up to 600kg, and females are bigger than males. Tiger sharks are good hunters: they can detect electric impulses thanks to the ampullae of Lorenzini and they also detect movements in the water with an organ on its flanks. As all sharks, its teeth is replaced periodically.
